MTEG PROGRAM level DESCRIPTIONS

MTEG offers courses for students who want to learn the correct fundamentals and techniques of tennis. All strokes will be taught on age-appropriate equipment and will move students through the quick start pipeline. Beginner, intermediate and advanced (red ball, orange ball, green ball, yellow ball) training is offered.

Our program is designed for tennis students with the goals of growing their games to the next level.  We offer step by step instruction that focuses on developing and maintaining skills that will prepare students for competitive play.

Beginner

Red Ball

* 19" - 23" racquet

* mini net on 36’ courts

Hand eye coordination, balance and movement, basic stroke mechanics through fun games! Stroke mechanics through fun games & rallies. Movement related activities.  Self and partner rallying skills to start fundamental future development. The goal here is to develop control and consistency on a 36' court.

Intermediate

Orange ball

* 23" - 25" racquet

* full nets on 60’ courts

Stroke mechanics and court coverage through fun and competitive drills & games.

Players will rally and control the ball. Focus is on technical and tactical guidance.

Intermediate

Green ball

Live-ball drills and point play help develop shot selection and movement while players continue stroke development. Players have proven skills in mechanics, control, consistency and movement.

Designed for junior players who aspire to consistently participate in competitive events. Tactical & technical instructional player development sessions inclusive of fitness. The program focuses on emphasizing fundamentals, work ethic, and overall ball control. Players will learn the skills necessary for successful introduction to local and sectional competition.

Intermediate/Advanced/High Performance

Designed for junior players who participate in competitive events. Tactical & technical instructional player development sessions inclusive of fitness.

Intermediate

The pathway focuses on players who are either transitioning into yellow balls and/or aspiring to become competitive tournament players. While further emphasizing fundamentals, work ethic, and overall ball control.  Players will learn the skills necessary for successful introduction to local and sectional competition.  Through a variety of game-based and cooperative activities, players will learn the fundamental skills needed to continue to progress as they gain additional experience.  

AdvanceD

Programming for students that have developed an overall game. These classes are faster paced and are designed for preparing students for competitive play at tournaments and the high school level. Players will receive training on technical, tactical, competitive strategy for singles and doubles and conditioning.  The program develops a tournament mentality backed by solid parameters, fitness and strategic thinking.  The program perpetuates personal excellence while focusing on developing and attracting serious junior tournament players with high aspirations, such as college tennis and beyond.

High performance

Our junior high-performance program is designed for the player that is dedicated to year-round competitive tennis, including participating in tournaments on a regular basis. Students are typically ranked in their age division sectionally and/or nationally and opt to play on their high school tennis team at the highest level. The program develops a tournament mentality backed by solid parameters, fitness and strategic thinking.  The program perpetuates personal excellence while focusing on developing and attracting serious junior tournament players with high aspirations, such as college tennis and beyond.
